MINUTES OF THE MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD PARIS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS 107 E. KAUFMAN PARIS TEXAS 75460 TUESDAY Januar14 2025 Present: Board Members: Glee Emmite, Will Walker, Melissa Jones, Kim Kalina, Mary Hart, Kevin Moore, Tyrone Hayden, Becky Semple (current Chamber representative), Karen Doughtery (new Chamber representative) Alix Putnam (city council) City Representatives: Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager Osei Amo-Mensah, Director of Plan and Comm. Dev. Rob Vine Citizens : Misty Scott, Rosewood Eatery/PDA President, Suzy Harper, Light Up Paris, Becky Norment, City Council District 5 Chairman Emmite called the meeting to order at 4:35pm by reading the board's vision and mission statements. 1. Citizen forum: Introductions only. 2. Review minutes from the December meeting: A motion was made to approve the December meeting minutes by Hayden. Motion was seconded by Walker. 7 ayes, 0 nays. Motion passes. 3. Becky Norment presented the renovation details of her property on South Main, requesting a grant. Hart made a motion to award said grant to Norment. Kalina seconded. Motion passed. 4. Coordinators Report - Coordinator Bedford led the board through each of the 6 standards of the Annual Assessment to achieve accreditation. We are a city funded and city supported Main Street Program. Collectively the board recommended a #3 average score. Bedford also gave a 2024 Year in Review including all the successful events and major upgrades that Downtown Paris has had. 5. Committee Reports Transforming Strategies: Hart reported that an Artist Meet and Greet is set for Friday, January 24th. Gathering local artists and networking is the goal. PDA Report: Emmite reported that PDA had a 2025 planning meeting. Chamber Report: Karen D. reported that the Tower City Comedy tour is the week of January 23rd. Barber Hills mountain bike race in Feb 8 & 9.
