Building and Standards Meeting July 15, 2024 Page 5 1256 SE 15th; Gibbons -Braden Addition, Block 8, Lot 5 Owner: Ruby L Stover; 1256 15th SE, Paris, TX 75460 Robert Talley stated the owner is deceased. He believes the previous squatter, Christopher Thomas, is now gone. There is severe fire damage to the property and someone has pulled off the metal roofing off. Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demolition and vacate within 30 days, secure within 14 days, or the city has the right to do so. Motion made by Chris Dux, seconded by Ken Kohls, to follow staff recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5-0 J. 404 NE 11th; City Block 70, Lot 13-B Owner: Mitchell Duford Jr; 617 5th NE, Paris, TX 75460 Robert Talley stated there is extensive fire damage, broken windows, and minor foundation damage throughout the structure. The structure is a total burnout. Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demolition, vacate, and removal of junk and rubbish within 30 days. Motion made by Chris Fitzgerald, seconded by Kim Walker, to follow staff recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5-0 K. 808 SE 17th; City Block 112-F, Lot 7 Owner: Shalom Sasson; 1042 Warber Lane, Aubrey, TX 76227 Robert Talley stated this is a rental property. The roof is leaking and the owner has put tarps on but no repairs have been made. Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, repair within 30 days or will be brought back to the commission. Motion made by Ken Kohls, seconded by Kim Walker, to follow staff recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5-0 K. 2636 E Cherry; City of Paris, Block 257-C, Lot 3 Owner: Anne O Jones; 2636 E Cherry, Paris, TX 75460 Robert Talley stated the owner is deceased. The brother of the owner stated to Mr. Talley he is probating the will. This have been to Buildings and Standards for roof repair orders but none have been made. Mr. Talley is bringing this back to the commission to determine what should be done next.
