Item No. 15 <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council <br />Rose Beverly, City Manager <br />FROM: Richard Salter, Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: PUBLIC SERVICE - HEROISM AWARDS <br />DATE: May 12, 2025 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is the largest male lineage organization in the <br />United States and consists of 50 state -level societies with more than 500 local chapters. The SAR <br />is interdependent with and shares a collaborative purpose with the Daughters of the American <br />Revolution. The SAR is a non-profit non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting <br />patriotism, preserving American History and teaching American History to future generations. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: <br />The Public Service and Heroism Committee of the Red River Chapter of the Sons of the American <br />Revolution (SAR) in collaboration with the City of Paris wishes to recognize and honor three brave <br />citizens of Paris, Texas for their outstanding bravery and self-sacrifice in the face of imminent <br />danger to themselves and others. The written justification for this action is attached to this <br />memorandum. The award recipients named below will also be recognized in a book published and <br />distributed electronically during the SAR National Congress in July. <br />The Medal for Heroism.
