Building and Standards Meeting <br />March 17, 2025 <br />Page 3 <br />Robert Talley stated the homeless are getting into the building through a window that <br />was propped open on the second story,, Reports have shown them coming and going <br />through said window. <br />There was discussion amongst the board and Rose Beverly regarding the city's <br />options on assessing the property <br />Robert TaUey's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, secure window within 30 <br />days, or the city has the right to do so. <br />Motion made by Chris Dux, seconded by Kim Walker, to follow staff <br />recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5-0 <br />E. 2740 W Campbell; Cedar Hill Addition, Block 4, Lot 8 <br />Owner: James Minor; 935 W Cherry,, Paris, TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley stated the structure is being squatted in. There is severe junk and <br />rubbish throughout the property such as coolers, pallets, tarps, litter, and other items. <br />The roof is sagging and there are holes in the roof that are covered with unsecure <br />sheet metal. <br />Robert Taney's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demolition, remove of <br />junk and rubbish, and vacate within 30 days, or the city has the right to do so,. <br />Motion made by Chris Dux, seconded by Ken Koh1s to follow staff recommendation. <br />Motion carried unanimously. 5-0 <br />F. 317 SE 16th; Cit(o..L ans9 Block 102-B, Lot 5 <br />Owner: Christopher & Amanda Pierce; 317 SE 16', Pans'. TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley stated the property has a camper on it that a tree had fallen on and <br />crushed. There is junk and rubbish such as mattresses, tires, barrels, broken toys, old <br />furniture and litter scattered throughout the property as well. There has been no <br />contact with the owner of the property but we did hear from his daughter that he is in <br />prison. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation : Declare a nuisance, remove junk and rubbish, <br />and the camper within 30 days or the city has the right to do so. <br />Motion made by Chris Dux, seconded by Ken Koh1s, to follow staff recommendation. <br />Motion carried unanimously. 5-0 <br />
