Item No. 10 <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council <br />Grayson Path, City Manager <br />FROM: Tom Hunt, Municipal Judge <br />SUBJECT: RE -APPOINTMENT OF MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE & ASSOCIATE <br />MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE <br />DATE: August 25, 2025 <br />BACKGROUND: Section 27 of the Paris City Charter states the City Council shall appoint a duly <br />licensed attorney to serve as city judge for a term of two years. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: I have served as Municipal Court Judge since October 1985, and Judge <br />Biard has served as Associate Municipal Court Judge since July 2013. The current terms for both <br />judges will end September 30, 2025. The new term will begin October 1, 2025 and end September <br />30, 2027. <br />BUDGET: No impact to the budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Re -appoint Judge Hunt to serve as Municipal Court Judge and Judge <br />Biard to serve as Associate Municipal Court Judge. <br />
