Memorandum. <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council <br />Rose Beverly, City Manager <br />FROM: Gene Anderson, Interim Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: CALLING PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED 2025-26 TAX RATE <br />DATE: August 25, 2025 <br />BACKGROUND: A public hearing on the proposed City tax rate is required by Chapter 26 of the <br />Texas Tax Code. The proposed tax rate was discussed by the City Council during its August 11" <br />Council meeting. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: The City Council needs to adopt a resolution calling for a public hearing <br />on the 2025-26 proposed City tax rate on September 8, 2025. A legal notice of the public hearing <br />will be published in the Paris News announcing the hearing. A copy of the proposed property tax <br />rate can be found on the City website. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Motion to approve the resolution calling for a public hearing on the <br />proposed 2025-26 City tax rate. <br />
