Discuss and act on a Resolution nominating a candidate(s) for the Lamar County <br />Appraisal District Board. <br />Ms. Ellis said every two years the Lamar County Appraisal District Chief Appraiser asks <br />the City to submit the name of its nominee to serve on the Board. She also said once the LCAD <br />receives nominations from all of the taxing entities, the LCAD would prepare a ballot and return <br />to the City for City Council to cast their vote. <br />A Motion to nominate Gene Anderson as the City's nominee was made by Mayor Pro - <br />Tem Savage and seconded by Council Member Norment. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />17. Discuss and act on changes for meeting dates in November and December. <br />Ms. Ellis reported that normally in November and December, the second City Council <br />meetings of the month were cancelled due to holidays and accompanying conflicts in scheduling. <br />She said staff recommended cancelling the November 24 and December 22 meetings. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Putnam and seconded by <br />Council Member Attebury. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />18. Discuss and act on RESOLUTION NO. 2025-052: A Resolution Denying Oncor's <br />proposed rate increase. <br />Interim Finance Director Gene Anderson said staff was presenting a resolution which <br />denies the rate increase and once the resolution was adopted, Oncor would have thirty days to <br />appeal the decision to the Public Utility Commission. He also said at that point the appeal would <br />be consolidated with Oncor's filing currently pending at the PUC but when the PUC would make <br />their decision was not known at this time. <br />19. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to <br />Resolution No. 2004-081. <br />Ms. Ellis reminded everyone about the Festival of Pumpkins taking place on October 25th <br />from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in downtown Paris. Mayor Pankaj said Kimmie Snowton wanted to <br />him to remind everyone about the last coffee with cops scheduled for October 21St at 9:00 a.m. <br />at Burger King. Mayor Pankaj said he would like something on one of the next two agendas <br />about the "no littering" signs, and that he would like TxDOT involved in the conversations. <br />Mayor Pro -Tem Savage said he would like to see more events in West Paris, because they were <br />well attended. <br />20. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Mayor Pro -Tem <br />Savage and seconded by Council Member Norment. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays. Mayor <br />Pankaj adjourned the meeting at 6:10 p.m. <br />
