Board of Adjustment Meeting <br />August 5, 2025 <br />Page 1 <br />MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />AUGUST 5, 2025 <br />The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 12 p.m. on August <br />5, 2025, at the City of Paris- City Hall, Council Chambers located at 107 E Kaufman St. <br />Present: Board Members: David Hamilton, Harley Draven, Ben Vaughan and <br />Richard Thompson. <br />City Representative: Stephanie Harris and Osei Amo-Mensah. <br />Absent: Bill Sanders. <br />The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by David Hamilton, at 12; 00 p.m. <br />2. Election of officers. <br />A. Chairman <br />David Hamilton was nominated and elected as Chairman, no other nominations were made. <br />B. Vice -Chairman <br />Harley Draven was nominated and elected as Vice -Chairperson, no other nominations were <br />made. <br />3. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (May 6, 2025) <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Richard Thompson to approve minutes <br />for the May 6, 2025 meeting. Motion carried 4 ayes — 0 nays. <br />4. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of dakir Malek of EXL Capital <br />Group LLC regarding a variance to the City of Paris Area Regulations, Section 9-402.1(2), <br />on Lots 1-3, Block 1, of the Talkington-Hodge Addition being located at 1471 W Kaufman <br />Street. <br />David Hamilton opened the public hearing. <br />Director of Planning and Zoning, Osei Amo-Mensah presented the case to the board and <br />gave City recommendation. <br />No one else spoke in favor or opposition of the request. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Richard Thompson to approve the <br />variance to the City of Paris Area Regulations, Section 9-402.1(2) based on the following <br />findings. Motion carried 4 ayes - 0 nays. <br />
