Chamber/VCC- Karen Dougherty shared an update on events. Indoor archery was a big <br />success with 7 states, 123 shooters over 2 days with 53 kids for the kid shoot. Tower City <br />comedy festival was rescheduled due to the ice storm. Feb. 24th is the Kayak <br />Championship at Bois D'Arc Lake. 2/27 is Pancake Days for Kiwanis. 3/28 is Pump track <br />Classic. We now have lights at the Pump.]ack Track. <br />5. Coordinator's Report- Cheri Bedford <br />Inquired Karen Daugherty from the Paris Visitors and Convention Council about what <br />they do to bring people downtown when there are events around town. Karen shared that <br />events can be added to the Visit Paris TX Facebook page. They have QR Codes that they <br />share at their events that let attendees know of what is around town. <br />WineFest-Cheri has confirmed the Gibraltar Hotel for the VIP Event during WineFest. <br />Walt Reep and Greg Kee will host the VIP Event. We plan to offer different bags and a <br />wine -tasting experience for up to 75 people (up from 50 last year). VIP attendees will <br />not have to check in to attend the 6-9 event. She is working on the artwork for <br />WineFest. LCH Association promotes the history of Paris and has a committee of <br />people for America 250. We are all in agreement to use the America 250 Logo this year <br />on our wine glasses. Ticket sales start tomorrow. Cheri has secured 10 businesses for <br />the WineFest. We need 3 more foodies. <br />Placer Al- have input all business addresses downtown for the local businesses to obtain <br />good data as far as who is downtown, when and for how long. <br />BIG Grants- We paid out $132,950. We will take pictures with the recent recipients. If you <br />are available, please attend. <br />First St.- concrete footers are being installed. Second set of pavers have been ordered. <br />6. Future Agenda Items <br />Beverly Ables workshop to discuss strategic planning training will be March 16 or 30. <br />We will let you know. <br />7.
