§ 4.02.183. through § 4.02.210. (Reserved) <br />DIVISION 8 <br />Electrical Regulations <br />§ 4.02.211. National Electrical Code adopted. <br />(a) Definition, For purposes of this division, "National Electrical Code" shall mean the 2820 <br />2023 National Electrical Code (Also known as NAFPA 70 and sometimes referred to as <br />the NEC), including any and all amendments, revisions or revised additions to the 2020 <br />2023 National Electrical Code adopted. <br />(b) Adoption; applicability. In conformance with V.T.C.A., Local Government Code, chapter <br />214, subchapter G, sections 214.211 through 214.214, the 220 2023 National Electrical <br />Code shall be and is hereafter adopted as the municipal commercial electrical <br />construction code for the city. The 2920 2023 National Electrical Code shall apply to all <br />commercial electrical construction applications within the city. The city council may <br />establish procedures to adopt local amendments to the National Electrical Code and for <br />the administration and enforcement of the National Electrical Code. <br />(c)Copies on file. Copies of the 2020 2023 National Electrical Code will be maintained on <br />file in the office of the planning and development depaFtment Buildin Safety, and may <br />be viewed at Fi,ee Access NFPA... a NationalElectricali("'ode and the provisions thereof <br />shall be controlling as set out herein in the construction of all buildings and other <br />structures within the corporate limits of the city. <br />§ 4.02.212. Amendments. <br />The 20;10 2023 National Electrical Code adopted by section 4.02.211 shall be amended as <br />set forth in A-;;AreQ-1-9 Attachment G,, which is incorporated by reference as if fully <br />set forth herein. <br />§ 4.02.213. Repair of dangerous equipment and installations; disconnection of service. <br />(a) When any electrical equipment is found by the electrical inspector to be dangerous to <br />persons or property because it is defective or improperly installed, the person owning <br />the electrical equipment shall be notified, in writing, and shall have any changes or <br />repairs made, as required by the electrical inspector, which will place such equipment in <br />safe condition. If such work is not completed within the period specified by the inspector <br />in the notice, the inspector shall have the authority to disconnect or order the <br />disconnection of electric service to the dangerous equipment. <br />(b) If, in the judgment of the electrical inspector after inspection, any electrical installation <br />is unsafe or dangerous to persons or property, the inspector shall have the power to <br />cause such electrical installation to be disconnected from the source of electrical energy <br />supplying the same, in which event he shall notify Oncor of such action.
