WHEREAS, in 2001, the City Council adopted a City of Paris, Texas <br />Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2018, the City Council adopted the last significant revisions to <br />the Comprehensive Plan and the Future Land Use Plan and has since approved minor <br />revisions thereto; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas, received a petition for <br />amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map for the City of <br />Paris from Medium Density Residential (MDR) to High Density Residential (HDR) <br />(LCAD portions of 18904, 109966, and all of 108321) and from Low Density <br />Residential (LDR) to Commercial (C) on Tract A (LCAD 102969), City of Paris Block <br />351, Lot 9A and PT of 9, and Block 352, Lot PT of 7, located North and East of the <br />Forestbrook Estates Subdivision; and <br />WHEREAS, analysis of the existing conditions of the neighborhood supports <br />such a change to the Comprehensive Plan and the Future Land Use Map; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 4, 2026, the Planning and Zoning Commission conducted <br />a public hearing on said proposed amendment after notice and publication as <br />required by law, and, following said hearing, made formal recommendation vote to <br />the City Council to approve said proposed Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use <br />Map Amendments; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 11, 2026, after notice and publication as required by law, <br />the City Council of the City of Paris held a public hearing to receive input from the <br />citizens of the City of Paris regarding the proposed amendment to the Future Land <br />Use Map and the City Council determined that this amendment should be approved <br />by a vote of with _ayes and nays. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are <br />hereby in all things approved and are incorporated herein for all purposes. <br />Section 2. That the Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map for the <br />City of Paris shall be amended from Medium Density Residential (MDR) to High <br />Density Residential (HDR) (LCAD portions of 18904, 109966, and all of 108321) and <br />from Low Density Residential (LDR) to Commercial (C) on Tract A (LCAD 102969), <br />City of Paris Block 351, Lot 9A and PT of 9, and Block 352, Lot PT of 7, located North <br />and East of the Forestbrook Estates Subdivision. <br />Section 3. That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas <br />in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other <br />provisions of the ordinances of the City of Paris not in conflict with the provisions of <br />this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. <br />
