<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-132 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A GRANT <br />APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL <br />JUSTICE DIVISION, FOR A RED RIVER VALLEY DRUG TASK FORCE <br />GRANT; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERAGENCY <br />AGREEMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris finds it in the best interest ofthe citizens <br />of Paris that the Red River Valley Drug Task Force be operated for the year beginning October <br />1,2005, and ending March 31,2006; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris agrees to provide applicable matching <br />funds for the said project as required by the Criminal Justice Division grant application; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris agrees that in the event ofloss or misuse <br />of the Governor's Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Paris assures that the funds will be <br />returned to the Governor's Criminal Justice Division in full; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris designates Tony N. Williams, City <br />Manager as the grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply <br />for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris approves submission of the grant <br />application for the Red River Valley Drug Task Force to the Governor's Criminal Justice Division. <br /> <br />Section 3.
