RESOLUTION NO. 2005-132 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, FOR A RED RIVER VALLEY DRUG TASK FORCE GRANT; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERAGENCY AGREEMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris finds it in the best interest ofthe citizens of Paris that the Red River Valley Drug Task Force be operated for the year beginning October 1,2005, and ending March 31,2006; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris agrees to provide applicable matching funds for the said project as required by the Criminal Justice Division grant application; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris agrees that in the event ofloss or misuse of the Governor's Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Paris assures that the funds will be returned to the Governor's Criminal Justice Division in full; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris designates Tony N. Williams, City Manager as the grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris approves submission of the grant application for the Red River Valley Drug Task Force to the Governor's Criminal Justice Division. Section 3.
