<br />Board Minutes for the <br />Paris Economic Development Corporation <br />November 21,2005 <br />4:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Board Members <br />Present: Dick Severson <br />Sims Norment <br />Rodney Bass <br />Glenn Bawcum <br />Ex-officio Members <br />Present: Tony Williams <br />Brady Fisher <br /> <br />Board Members <br />Absent: Mike Dunn <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br />Gary Vest <br />Chad Madding <br /> <br />Sims Norment called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes of the September, 2005 meeting were approved as presented <br />on a motion by Dick Severson, second by Rodney Bass. <br /> <br />The financial report was presented for the month ending September <br />30,2005. Gary spoke about the finances and how the travel budget <br />needs to be broken out due to the fact the credit cards are included in <br />the travel budget. The board agreed to the having the travel budget <br />broken out. The board felt Jeff Smallwood's price for taking care of <br />the industrial park grounds was too high and we should re-bid the <br />job to get a lower price. The financial report was approved on a <br />motion by Rodney Bass, second by Glenn Bawcum. <br /> <br />Gary Vest gave the Director's report. He talked about Project Sunray <br />and submitting the proposal to the state. Project Mexico is still <br />working on deciding on a site and Paris is still in the running. Cox <br />Roofing is looking for a site in the Paris area and we met with Walter <br />Cox Sr. and Jr. about incentives and a site in our industrial park. This <br />lead came from L. D. Williamson at ArkTex Council of Governments. <br />The Cox family owns a bank in Naples, Texas. Walter Cox Sr. owned <br />a shingle manufacturing plant and sold it in 1997.
