<br />AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION: To establish a new department within the City, being the Special <br />Services Department which will consist of a Director who will oversee the <br />Information Technology, Central Purchasing, Fleet Maintenance, and Facilities <br />Maintenance functions. The Director will perform other duties as assigned. <br />Employees involved in these functions will be supervised and will report to the <br />Special Services Director. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: There has been a need for expanded operation of the <br />Information Technology, Central Purchasing, Fleet Maintenance, and Facilities <br />Maintenance functions within the City in order to more efficiently and <br />economically manage these various functions and use them fully to the City's <br />advantage. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION: To approve an Ordinance establishing said Special <br />Services Department. <br /> <br />STAFF CONTACT: Tony Williams, City Manager, and Gene Anderson, Director <br />of Finance. <br /> <br />COST: The Special Services Director's annual salary will be $67,626 plus <br />$19,354 worth of employee benefits for a total of $86,980.
