Minutes
Traffic Commission
City of Paris
December 6, 2005

The Traffic Commission met in regular session, Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at
5:15 P.M. in the municipal court room with the following members present:

1. Jon McFadden
4. Matt Frierson
7. Mary Lane

2. Ed Seidle 3. George Kimbrough
5. Jordan Harper 6. Ed Ellis
8. Tom Calabria

The city staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police Bob Hundley.

The meeting was called to order at 5:15.PM by Chairman Ellis.

Chairman Ellis asked for the commissioners to read the minutes of the
September 6,2005 minutes and absent any questions that they stand approved.

Matt Frierson made a motion to bring the request for a multi-way stop sign at
Johnson Woods Drive and Clark Lane off of the table for consideration. George
Kimbrough seconded that motion and passed unanimously.

Chairman Ellis asked AC Hundley to provide the commission with any
information gathered since the tabling of the item. AC Hundley advised that the
City of Paris Traffic department had conducted a traffic count at the request of
the commission and found that from a 9 AM Wednesday to a 9 AM Friday period,
2704 vehicles had approached the intersection on Johnson Woods from the
north, 2328 from the south. Eastbound vehicles on Clark Lane approaching the
intersection numbered 7468 and from the west 8204.

AC Hundley gave the commission the requirements as set out in the Texas
Manual on Uniform traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways for a multi-
way stop sign. The traffic count along with the 20 MPH speed limit in the area
did not warrant a multiway stop.

Chairman Ellis asked for a motion. Mr. Kimbrough made a motion to deny the
request for a multi-way stop sign. Mary Lane seconded that motion and it
passed unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:24 by Chairman Ellis.

Bob Hundley
Assistant Chief of Police

-r

"T~'

~,-, , ' . -" '-T '
