<br />DRAFT <br /> <br />S:\citydata\Attorney\ORDWORK\CURRENT\Aviation Permit - Amnd Ord Final.wpd <br />January 10,2006 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF <br />THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING <br />SECTION 6-22(a) OF SAID CODE TO CORRECT A REFERENCE <br />CONTAINED THEREIN; REVISING SECTION 6-22(b) OF SAID CODE TO <br />PROVIDE THAT THE AIRPORT MANAGER MAY ISSUE OR RENEW <br />PERMITS FOR AERONAUTICAL ACTIVITIES TO APPLICANTS WHO <br />COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 6 OF SAID CODE; <br />PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING <br />ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />HEREWITH; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED <br />TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 6-22 of the Code or Ordinances establishes the procedure for issuing <br />aeronautical activities at Cox Field Airport; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 6-22(a) of said Code contains an error in that it references subsection <br />(e) instead of subsection (d) of Chapter 6, which is the subsection containing the insurance <br />requirements for obtaining a permit; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, additionally, the procedure currently provides for issuance of permits by the <br />Airport Manager; however, it also provides that those permits shall be reviewed annually by the <br />Airport Advisory Board and the City Council, who have historically followed the recommendation <br />of the Airport Manager; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to make the issuance and renewal of permits faster and more <br />convenient for individuals or businesses wishing to conduct an aeronautical activity at Cox Field <br />Airport, the Airport Advisory Board has requested that the Airport Director look into ways to revise <br />the procedure to allow the Airport Manager to issue or renew permits throughout the year to any <br />applicant who complies with the provisions of Chapter 6; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That Section 6-22(a) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, <br />be, and the same is hereby, corrected so that such shall read as follows: <br /> <br />r <br />
