<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-136
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF ARCHITEXAS FOR
<br />COMPLETION OF PHASE II OF THE UPDATED HISTORIC RESOURCE
<br />SURVEY OF THE CITY OF PARIS; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
<br />A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT UNDER THE TERMS AND
<br />CONDITIONS AND IN A FORM APPROVED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY;
<br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
<br />SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris Historic Preservation Commission had previously
<br />recommended to the City Council of the City of Paris that a grant application be submitted to the
<br />Texas Historical Commission seeking grant assistance to perform an updated survey of historic
<br />resources within the City of Paris; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, did heretofore, on the 9th
<br />day of June, 2003, in Resolution No. 2003-104, authorize an application to the Texas Historical
<br />Commission, Certified Local Government Division, for a Certified Local Government (CLG) Grant
<br />in the amount of $7,500.00 to partially fund an updated survey of historic resources, with a
<br />$5,000.00 cash match to be provided by local resources; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, did heretofore, on the 11 th
<br />day of August, 2003, in Resolution No. 2003-139, accept the proposal of ARCHITEXAS for
<br />completion of the updated historic resource survey, if such grant was awarded, and authorized the
<br />execution of a professional services agreement; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, did heretofore, on the 10th
<br />day of May, 2004, in Resolution No. 2004-086, authorize an additional application to the Texas
<br />Historical Commission, Certified Local Government Division, for a Certified Local Government
<br />(CLG) Grant in the amount of$41,000.00 to further fund the completion of said updated survey of
<br />historic resources, with $24,000.00 to be provided by grant and $16,400.00 to be provided by cash
<br />match; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Texas Historical Commission did heretofore, on June 1,2004, award to
<br />City of Paris a Certified Local Government (CLG) Grant in the amount of$5, 700.00 to partially fund
<br />an updated survey of commercial historic resources, with a $3,800.00 cash match which was
<br />provided by the Lennox Foundation; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Texas Historical Commission did heretofore, on February 15, 2005, award
<br />the City of Paris a Certified Local Government (CLG) Grant in the amount of$7,500.00 to fund the
<br />completion of an updated survey of residential historic resources, with a $5,000.00 cash match; and,
