<br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-058 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore on the 10th day of <br />March, 1994, pass Resolution No. 94-021, which said Resolution was incorrect and requires <br />correction; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that <br />Resolution No. 94-021, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988 (Public Law <br />100-690), Texas will receive federal funds to provide funding for the Texas Narcotics <br />Control Program (TNCP), Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program, and the <br />Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor has been designated to administer the <br />program in the form of grants to units of government; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it to be in the best interest <br />of the citizens of Paris to seek such assistance which will focus on drug law enforcement; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if such application for grant assistance is approved, the project is to be <br />funded by 67 % federal funds totaling $236,270.00, and 33 % local matching funds totaling <br />$117,172.00; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br />1. That an application be made to the Texas Narcotics Control Program, Office <br />of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for A Texas Narcotics Control Program, <br />Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program, 1994 Grant, and if such application <br />for grant assistance is approved, the project is to be funded by 67 % federal funds totaling <br />$236,270.00 and 33 % local matching funds totaling $117,172.00. <br /> <br />2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and he is <br />hereby appointed as the Authorized Official of said project and is authorized and directed <br />to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the application for grant in the form attached hereto <br />as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />3. That Karl Louis, Chief, Paris Police Department, be, and he is hereby <br />appointed as Project Director and is hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of <br />the City of Paris all reports, communications, assurances, contracts and documents necessary <br />for the completion of said project. <br /> <br />4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to serve as the Financial Officer for said project and to receive and distribute <br />funds for purposes of said project." <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of June, 1994. <br /> <br />UL <br />
