1994-046-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID HERETOFORE PREPARE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS

RESOLUTION NO. 94-046 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did heretofore authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for a project of construction to be funded in part by the Texas Community Development Program grant for curb and gutter, paving and drainage in the Booker T. Washington project area on 5th Street N.E. from Garrett Street north to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Extension; Garrett Street and Henderson Street from 3rd Street N.E. east to 5th Street N.E.; 6th Street N.E. from Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Extension north to Hickory Street; 7th Street N.E. from Givens Elementary School north to Hickory; and Williams Street from 6th Street N.E. east to Givens Elementary School, consisting of approximately 12,318 lin. ft. of curb and gutter, 1,500 sq. yards of concrete drive approach and other related street improvements; and, WHEREAS, such plans and specifications have been prepared by Earl Smith, City Engineer with the title being given thereto of "BOOKER T. WASHINGTON PROJECT AREA CURB AND GUTTER, PA VING AND DRAINAGE PHASE II, TCDP CONTRACT NO. 702471" project, which plans and specifications are recommended for approval by the City Engineer of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, such plans and specifications should be approved and such project should be authorized for advertisement for bids; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the plans and specifications for the "BOOKER T. WASHINGTON AREA CURB AND GUTTER, PAVING AND DRAINAGE PHASE II, TCDP CONTRACT NO. 702471" project of construction of curb and gutter, paving and drainage on 5th Street N .E. from Garrett Street north to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Extension; Garrett Street and Henderson Streets from 3rd Street N.E. east to 5th Street N.E.; 6th Street N.E. from Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Extension north to Hickory Street; 7th Street N.E. from Givens Elementary School north to Hickory; and Williams Street from 6th Street N.E. east to Givens Elementary School be, and the same are hereby approved; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that such project of construction be advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, until 3:00 o'clock P.M. on Tuesday, June 7, 1994, at which time said bids will be opened in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids will be tabulated and presented to the City Council on the 13th day of June, 1994. for the purpose of letting such bid.
