<br />The City was found to have administered each of its major federal awards programs in compliance in all material respects. <br /> <br />Awards <br /> <br />The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of <br />Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Paris for its comprehensive annual [mancial report (CAFR) <br />for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2004. The Certificate of Achievement is a prestigious national award recognizing <br />conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government [mancial reports. <br /> <br />In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a government unit must publish an easily readable and efficiently <br />organized comprehensive annual [mancial report, whose contents conform to program standards. The CAFR must satisfy <br />both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements. <br /> <br />A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year only, We believe our current report continues to conform to <br />the Certificate of Achievement program requirements, and we are submitting it to GFOA. <br /> <br />Acknowledgments <br /> <br />The preparation of this report could not have been accomplished without the full support and efficient and dedicated efforts <br />of the entire staff of the Finance Department and the competent services of the independent auditors, McClanahan and <br />Holmes, LLP, CP As. I express my appreciation to all members of the Finance Department who assisted and contributed to <br />the completion of this report and to all City Departments involved in the preparation of information for this report.
