AIR AND on. FILTERS are precision
engineered and manufactured from the highest quality
materials. Pennzoil filters exceed all Original
Equipment Manufacturers' (O.E.M.) design
specifications. The burst pressures of Pennzoil oil
fillers average over 25% higher than engine makers'
requirements, reducing the posslbility of a ruptured
filter when operating an engine at cold temperatUres.
The use of resin-impregnated filter elements results in
one of the most efficient lines of oil and air filters in
removing CODt~minants. By removing the maximum
amount of air and oil-bome CODrnmin~nt5, engine wear
is greatly reduced and the life of the engine is
increased.

PENNZOn. AIR AND on. FILTERS have a special
silicone-impregnated "slippery" gasket on the
mounting plate to reduce the effort and time needed to
install and remove the filters while providing a
positive, leak-proof seal. For quick lubes, service
stations, and garages less time and effon spent
removing and iostalling filters means more vehicles
can be serviced. When required by OEM design
specifications, PENNZOn. On. FILTERS contain anti-
drain and pressure by-pass valves. The anti-drain
valve prevents oil from draining out of the filter after
an engine shutdown. When restarted. the engine does
not have to wait for the filter to refill with oil before
the moving partS receive lubricant. The pressure by-
pass valve will allow oil to flow past the filter in the
event that the filter element becomes blocked with
contllminallts.

The major cause of internal leaks in oil filters is
separation of the filter element from the end caps.
Pennzoil uses a specially engineered adhesive to assure
complete bonding between the filter element and end
caps.

January, 1995

.

PENNZOn. AIR FILTERS utilize surgical white paper
filter elements. Besides providing superior filtering
efficiency, the white color of the filter paper
demonstrates that the filter is working and acts as a
gauge for change intervals.

APPLICA nON

PENNZOIL AIR AND OIL FILTERS" arc
manufactured in a variety of models to fit domestic and
imported vehicles on the road today. SubUe differences
in filter width, heigh~ gasket diameter and width.
mounting thr~ size, and by-pass valve pressure
settings between filter models make choosing the
correct tilter model imperatitive. Using an incorrect
filter model could result in severe engine damage.
Always refer to the Pennzoil Filter Guide for the
proper filter model for a particular application. Do DOt
rely on filter cross reference charts.

BENEIDS

· Actual burst pressure averages 25% higher than
specification
· Resin-impregnated tilter paper provides maximum
efficiency in removing contaminants
· Silicone-impregnated "slippery" gasket material
makes inst3l1ation and removal of oil1ilters easier
and quicker while providing superior, leak-proof
seal
· Surgical white air filter elements aid in identifying
dirty air filters
