<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-027
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, in an effort to keep the tax rate as low
<br />as possible, did budget in the 1997-1998 Budget funds to be generated from the sale of surplus
<br />property; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the strip of land that is approximately 100' wide x 2,650' long, located in
<br />the Southwest Industrial Park, east of 13th Street S.W. and Loop 286 S.W., has no planned
<br />municipal use, either presently or in the foreseeable future, and it is deemed appropriate that said
<br />property be declared surplus and sold in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the
<br />Charter of the City of Paris; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of the instrument of conveyance appropriate to the title owned by
<br />the City of Paris, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor,
<br />Eric S. Clifford, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
<br />strip of land that is approximately 100' wide x 2,650' long, located in the Southwest Industrial
<br />Park, east of 13th Street S.W. and Loop 286 S.W., be, and the same is hereby, declared to be
<br />surplus; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said property should be sold in accordance with the
<br />laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Paris; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the form of the instrument of conveyance
<br />appropriate to the title owned by the City of Paris, attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same
<br />is hereby, approved; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Eric S. Clifford, be, and he is hereby,
<br />authorized and directed to execute the instrument of conveyance appropriate to the title owned by
<br />the City of Paris to the Paris Economic Development Corporation, under the terms and conditions
<br />and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
