<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-014
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 4th day of
<br />April, 1996, in Resolution No. 96-029, authorize an application to be made to the Texas Department
<br />of Housing and Community Affairs for the Community Development Fund Grant under the Texas
<br />Community Development Program; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of
<br />October, 1996, in Resolution No. 96-105, accept the grant award and authorize the execution of
<br />TCDP Contract No. 716641 between the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and
<br />the City of Paris; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of
<br />October, 1996, in Resolution No. 96-105, authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for
<br />a project of construction for the construction of approximately 3,801 L.F. 8" PYC, SDR 35, 965
<br />L.F. 8" PYC, Class 160 gravity sanitary sewer, 17 manholes, 11 customer services, 39 grinder pump
<br />installations, and 2,950 L.F. 2 1/2" PYC, Class 200 force main; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, such plans and specifications have been prepared by Earl E. Smith, City
<br />Engineer, with the title being given thereto of "N. W. Paris Sanitary Sewer Improvements, FM 79,
<br />18th S1. N.W., 19th S1. N.W., and Butler Lane, TCDP Contract No. 716641" project, which
<br />plans and specifications are recommended for approval by the City Engineer of the City of Paris and
<br />it is deemed appropriate that the plans and specifications be approved; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, bids for such construction are to be received after due notice at the office
<br />of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 1 st Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, until
<br />3:00 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 3rd day of February, 1998, at which time said bids will be opened
<br />in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids
<br />will be tabulated and presented to the City Council on the 9th day of February, 1998, for the purpose
<br />of letting such bid, and it is deemed appropriate that such advertisement be ratified; NOW,
<br />THERE}'ORE,

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
<br />plans and specifications for the "N. W. Paris Sanitary Sewer Improvements, }'M 79, 18th S1.
<br />N.W., 19th S1. N.W., and Butler Lane, TCDP Contract No. 716641" Project be, and the same
<br />are hereby, approved; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the advertisement for bids for such construction
<br />Project on the 18th and 25th days of January, 1998, to be received and opened on the 3rd day of
<br />February, 1998, and to be tabulated and presented to the City Council on the 9th day of February,
<br />1998, be, and the same is hereby, ratified.
