Box 688 <br />Paris, Texas 75461 <br /> <br />Dear Ms. McDowell: <br /> <br />In answer to your inquiry as to what services the City <br />of Paris will provide to the Housing Authority of the City of <br />Paris, I wish to assure all interested persons that the City <br />of Paris continues to be committed to provide services in <br />accordance with paragraph five of the Cooperative Agreement <br />between the Housing Authority of the City of Paris, Texas, <br />and the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, dated March 7, 1950, <br />which in general terms is the same type, level and at the <br />same cost that public services and facilities are provided <br />the community-at-large. <br /> <br />In addition to this and during your pursuit of <br />modernization of your projects, pursuant to your request, the <br />City Council has unanimously approved waiver of permit fees <br />normally charged for remodeling work of this type; however, <br />permits must be secured through the City as usual and <br />inspections made. It is the desire and intent of the City <br />Council to ensure that the Housing Authority of the City of <br />Paris provide intergrated housing facilities with the <br />appropriate racial mix for low income and elderly citizens of <br />our community and to ensure that such facilities meet all <br />other Federal Requirements for Public Housing including <br />Section 504, Rehabilitation Act of 1973. <br /> <br />I commend you and your Commissioners for your efforts to <br />bring the public housing of Paris into compliance with <br />Federal Law. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />Eric S.
