<br />JERRY BYWATERS ESTATE <br /> <br />DEED OF GIFT <br /> <br />To confirm our previous verbal gift, we do now transfer and <br />deliver, title to a painting by artist Jerry Bywaters, known as <br />"IN THE PUBLIC LIBRARY" , to the Public Library of Paris, <br />Texas. <br /> <br />The identification of this painting in the Jerry Bywaters Estate <br />inventory is given as: <br /> <br />BYW.1. 41. 0001 <br />In the Public Library (old man), 1941 <br />oil/canvas <br />30" X 34" <br />SDLR restor. <br />appraised value: $6,500.00 <br /> <br />This gift is being made in honor of the artist's parents: <br /> <br />Hattie Williamson Bywaters (born in Honey Grove, Texas) <br />and <br />Porter Ashburn Bywaters, Sr. (born in Roxton, Texas) <br />Both lived in Paris and raised two boys, Jerry and <br />Porter Jr., from about 1900 to 1917. <br /> <br />We request that the identification marker for this painting <br />reflect that this gift is in honor of the artist's parents, who <br />encouraged him to pursue his dream, a career in art. <br /> <br />The donors will retain the right to borrow the painting for brief <br />periods, for purposes of art shows, photographic reproduction, or <br />other purposes that would provide favorable exposure of this <br />painting.
