<br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-021 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development did <br />on September 27, 1988, award the Paris Housing Authority funds to <br />build 50 units of family public housing; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Paris Housing Authority and the City Council of <br />the Ci ty of Paris did agree upon four sites, being one each in <br />the four quadrants of the City, the descriptions of which are <br />attached hereto as Exhibit A, wi th each site to house no more <br />than 15 uni ts, and it is f itt ing and proper to nominate those <br />four sites to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for <br />approval; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the four sites to be nominated have options signed <br />by the property owners; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the event the four nominated sites are not <br />approved, it would be appropriate for the City of Paris to <br />withdraw its support of multi-family housing and recommend that <br />additional puhlic housing be provided through the Rental <br />Assistance Program and that such be used in conjunction with the <br />existing Public Housing to reach an appropriate racial mix; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />that the four sites, the descriptions of which are attached <br />hereto as Exhibit A, for 15 units or less of family public <br />housing agreed upon by the Paris Housing Authority and the City <br />of Paris, are hereby nominated for approval to the Department of <br />Housing and Urban Development. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in the event the four sites for <br />family public housing nominated above be not acceptable to the <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development, then the City of <br />Paris withdraw its support for multi-family public housing in <br />favor of housing to be furnished through the Rental Assistance <br />Program and encourages the use of the same to achieve an <br />appropriate racial mix in the existing Public Housing of the <br />Paris Housing Authority. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk, Mattie <br />Cunningham, is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of <br />this Resolution to the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 12th day of Feb uary, 1990. <br /> <br /> <br />~i~~-<~) <br /> <br />Eric S.
