<br />RESOLUTION NO. 97-020 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Karl Louis, Chief of the Paris Police Department, did furnish to the City Council of <br />the City of Paris on the 6th day of February, 1997, the crime statistic calculations prepared by the Services <br />Division of the Paris Police Department for the statistical year 1996, showing a marked decrease in crime, <br />and it is fitting and proper that the members of the criminal justice system active in the City of Paris be <br />commended and thanked for their contributions to the decrease of crime within the City of Paris; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the members of the criminal justice system of the City of Paris, consisting of the <br />Municipal Court Judge, the Municipal Court Clerk's office, the City Attorney, acting as Municipal <br />Prosecutor, the Police Department, the Code Enforcement Officer, the Fire Marshal, acting as arson <br />investigator, and the other members of the Fire Department, acting as inspectors, have done an outstanding <br />job and have had a positive effect contributing to the reduction of crime in the City of Paris, and they should <br />be commended; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 6th and the 62nd Judicial District Court's Judges of Lamar County, the Lamar <br />County Judge, the Justices of Peace of Lamar County, the County and District Attorney's prosecutors, the <br />County and District Clerks' offices, the Paris Police Department, and the Regional Controlled Substance <br />Apprehension Program Task Force, all in coordination with the County, State and Federal Officers have <br />done an outstanding job, have contributed to the reduction of crime in the City of Paris, and should be <br />commended; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the following <br />members of the criminal justice system be, and they are hereby, commended for their contributions to the <br />reduction of crime within the corporate limits of the City of Paris: <br /> <br />The Municipal Court Judge <br />The Municipal Court Clerk and her staff <br />The City Attorney, acting as Municipal Prosecutor, and his staff <br />The Paris Police Department and its Officers <br />The Code Enforcement Officer <br />The Fire Marshal, acting as Arson Investigator, and the other members of the Fire <br />Department, acting as Inspectors <br />The 6th and 62nd Judicial District Court's Judges of Lamar County <br />The Lamar County Judge <br />The Justices of Peace of Lamar County <br />The County and District Clerks and their staff <br />The County and District Attorney's Prosecutors and their staff <br />The Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program Task Force <br />The County, State, and Federal Agencies and Officers who have been active in the City of Paris <br />during the statistical period. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk of the City of Paris, be, and <br />she is hereby, directed to furnish copies of this resolution, suitable for framing, to all departments and <br />offices hereby commended. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of Februa <br /> <br /> <br />A TTIf~T. <br /> <br />Eric S.
