<br />RESOLUTION NO. 97-011 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, provides funding for <br />Criminal Justice Planning Fund (421 Fund) grants, through the Ark-Tex Council of <br />Governments, which provide funds for the continuation of a juvenile officer\juvenile gang <br />officer; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing a grant <br />application for the Criminal Justice Planning Fund (421 Fund) grant, for continuing a juvenile <br />officer/juvenile gang officer for the funding period from September I, 1997, to August 31, <br />1998, ata total cost of$41,169.00, with $25,473.00 to be provided by a grant and $15,696.00 <br />to be provided by the City of Paris in the form in of local matching funds; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the application has heretofore been submitted to the Ark-Tex Council of <br />Governments, to be hereafter submitted to the Office of The Governor, Criminal Justice <br />Division, in the form of Exhibit A attached hereto; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br />1. That an application be made to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice <br />Division, for a Criminal Justice Planning Fund (421 Fund) grant, for continuing a juvenile <br />officer/juvenile gang officer for the funding period from September I, 1997, to August 31, <br />1998, in the approximate amount of $25,473.00, being 61.28 % of the estimated cost of this <br />crime prevention program, with the City of Paris providing $15,696.00 in the form of matching <br />funds. <br /> <br />2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby, <br />appointed as the Authorized Official of said project and is authorized and directed to execute on <br />behalf of the City of Paris the application for grant in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />3. That Karl Louis, be, and he is hereby, appointed as Project Director and is hereby <br />authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris all reports, communications, <br />assurances and documents necessary for the completion of said project. <br /> <br />4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and he is hereby, authorized and <br />directed to serve as the Financial Officer for said project and to receive and distribute funds for <br />purposes of the Criminal Justice Planning (421) Program. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of February, 1997. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />
