<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-159 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of July, <br />1998, in Resolution No. 98-097, authorize an application to be made to the United States <br />Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, for the Local Law Enforcement Block Grants <br />Program grant; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, has <br />issued its Grant Award entitled "Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program - FY 1998," <br />Grant No. 98LBVX3205, for the period beginning October 1, 1998, and ending September 30, <br />2000, in the total amount of $145,088.00, requiring matching contribution of $16, 121.00; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of <br />said award, which occurred on September 30, 1998; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City <br />of Paris accept said Grant Award for an AS400 Computer, radar equipment, and overtime for the <br />Police Department; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the <br />"Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program - FY 1998," Grant No. 98LBVX3205, for the <br />period beginning October 1, 1998, and ending September 30, 2000, in the total amount of <br />$145,088.00, requiring matching contribution of $16,121.00, be, and the same is hereby, <br />accepted; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael E. <br />Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, <br />the Grantee Acceptance Notice under the terms and conditions and in the form shown on Exhibit <br />A, attached hereto. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of November, 1998. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />Charles H.
