<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-145 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, provides funding for <br />the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris is eligible to apply for a direct grant of funds in the amount <br />of $33,370.00, requiring a 10 % cash match in the amount of $3,708.00; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has the option of waiving its eligibility to apply and to <br />designate a neighboring city or county as the recipient of the allocated amount; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the City of Paris waive its eligibility to apply <br />for said grant and designate Lamar County as the recipient of the allocated amount, with the City <br />of Paris participating in the Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition created by Lamar County; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the form of the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Waiver of <br />Application, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the City <br />Manager should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THERE}~ORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the <br />waiver of the City of Paris's eligibility to apply for a Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block <br />Grant and designating Lamar County as the recipient of the allocated amount be, and the same is <br />hereby, approved; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the form of the Juvenile Accountability Incentive <br />Block Grant Waiver of Application, attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, <br />approved; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager, Michael E. Malone, be, and he <br />is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Juvenile <br />Accountability Incentive Block Grant Waiver of Application, under the terms and conditions and <br />in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Paris's participation in the Juvenile <br />Crime Enforcement Coalition created by Lamar County be, and the same is hereby, approved; <br />and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Karl Louis, Chief of the Paris Police Department, <br />be, and he is hereby, appointed to serve as the representative of the City of Paris on the Lamar <br />County Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of September, 1998. <br /> <br />
