<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-144
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 4th day of April,
<br />1996, in Resolution No. 96-029, authorize an application to be made to the Texas Department of
<br />Housing and Community Affairs for a Community Development Fund Grant under the Texas
<br />Community Development Program, for the purpose of funding the construction of sanitary sewer
<br />mains to serve the residents on FM 79, 18th Street N.W., 19th Street N.W., and Butler Lane,
<br />north of Loop 286 N.W., in the City of Paris; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of
<br />October, 1996, in Resolution No. 96-105, authorize the execution of the Texas Department of
<br />Housing and Community Affairs Contract for Community Development Programs, TCDP
<br />Contract No. 716641, for the period beginning August 23, 1996, and ending August 22, 1998,
<br />for grant funding in the amount of $250,000.00, requiring $114,520.00 to be provided by the City
<br />of Paris in the form of local funds from the Water and Sewer Fund and $34,026.00 of in-kind
<br />engineering-architectural services and general administration; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that said contract be amended to extend the contract
<br />period for six (6) months, same being February 22, 1999; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of Amendment No. I to Texas Community Development Program
<br />Contract No. 716641 between the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and the
<br />City of Paris, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things be approved, and the Mayor,
<br />Charles H. Neeley, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS; that the
<br />form of Amendment No.1 to Texas Community Development Program Contract No. 716641
<br />between the Texas Department f Housing and Community Affairs and the City of Paris, attached
<br />hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved;. and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, be, and he is hereby
<br />authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, Amendment No. 1 to Contract
<br />No. 716641, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
