<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-139 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is aware of a need for drug resistance <br />training for minors who reside within the corporate limits of the City of Paris; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Paris Independent School District has requested a presentation of the <br />Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) for one hundred eighty (180) days throughout the <br />1998-1996 school year for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 5 at the Givens, Justiss, and <br />Aikin campuses, and the City Council is agreeable to providing such service; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the form of the Intergovernmental Agreement for Consulting Services, <br />attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor, Charles H. <br />Neeley, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL O~l THE CITY OF PARIS, that the <br />form of the Intergovernmental Agreement for Consulting Services with the Paris Independent <br />School District, attached hereto as Exhibit A, for a presentation of the Drug Abuse Resistance <br />Education (D.A.R.E.) Program for one hundred eighty (180) days throughout the 1998-1999 <br />school year for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 5 at the Givens, Justiss, and Aikin <br />campuses, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and, <br /> <br />BE IT ~lURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, be, and he is <br />hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Intergovernmental <br />Agreement for Consulting Services with the Paris Independent School District, under the terms <br />and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of September, 1998. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
