<br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />CHAIN LINK SECURITY FENCE <br /> <br />Chain link security fence shall be as specified in ITEM 550 <br />CHAIN LINK FENCE, Texas Department of Transportation, Standard <br />specifications for Construction and Maintenance of Highways, <br />Streets, and Bridges, 1995 Edition, except as modified herein: <br /> <br />550.1 <br /> <br />Description. <br /> <br />The chain link security fence shall be 6 <br />feet tall with 3 strands of barbed wire on top. <br />There currently exists approximately 315 L.F. of <br />chain link fence which is to be taken down and <br />reused in the new location. In addition, there <br />is approximately 260 L.F. of chain link fence <br />which has already been taken down and is rolled <br />up in an orderly fashion which is to be reused. <br /> <br />It is understood that the CONTRACTOR may <br />determine that the reuse of existing materials <br />may be more expensive than supplying all new <br />materials. However, supplying all new materials <br />shall not be grounds for awarding the contract to <br />a higher bidder. It is the intent to incorporate <br />existing, reusable materials that are on-site and <br />ci ty owned in order to provide a complete and <br />functioning first class installation. <br />
