Aikin Drive 2006[] <br />March 7, 2006 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS; ESTABLISHING A MAXIMUM, REASONABLE, AND <br />PRUDENT RATE OF SPEED IN THE AREA OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br />ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS <br />AND PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY OF PARIS; PROVIDING FOR A <br />FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 1, <br />2006. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the following maximum, reasonable, and prudent rate of speed be, <br />and the same is hereby, established in the area of public schools on those portions of the <br />street hereinafter described: <br /> <br />AIKEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: <br />On Aikin Drive, from the east curb line of the intersection ofNE 30th <br />Street and Aikin Drive to the west boundary of property owned by the Paris <br />Independent School District, a speed limit of twenty (20) miles per hour; <br />and, <br /> <br />7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. <br />2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Section 2. That any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall <br />be guilty of a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed <br />$200.00. <br /> <br />Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby <br />expressly repealed. <br /> <br />Section 4. That this ordinance shall become effective on April 1 , 2006. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of March 2006. <br /> <br />Curtis Fendley, Mayor <br />
