~ I BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the Texas Preservation Trust Fund Grant from the Texas Historical Commission, Visionaries in Preservation, in the amount of$7,300.00 for the purpose of amending the Design Guidelines for the Downtown Historic District, be, and the same is hereby, accepted. Section 3. That the City of Paris has been offered and the City Council desires to accept and does hereby accept a grant in the amount of$7,300.00 from the Martha, David, and Bagby Lennox Foundation (The Lennox Foundation), said grant funds to serve as the City's required cash match under said grant from the Texas Historical Commission. Section 4. That the City Council does hereby approve and authorize the Mayor to execute and the City Clerk to attest to a grant agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and for all purposes incorporated herein as Exhibit A, by and between the Martha, David, and Bagby Lennox Foundation and the City of Paris to enable the City to receive said grant in the amount of$7,300.00. Section 5. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, appointed as the authorized official of said project and is authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, any further documents associated with the aforesaid grants under the tenns and conditions and in the fonns approved by the City Attorney. , Section 6. That the Director of Community Development be, and she is hereby, appointed as Project Director and is hereby authorized to execute and deliver, on behalf of the City of Paris, all reports, communications, assurances, and documents necessary for the completion of said project. Section 7. That the Director ofF inance be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to serve as the Financial Officer of said project and to receive and distribute funds for purposes of completing amendments to the Design Guidelines for the Downtown Historic District. Section 8. That the Mayor, City Manager, Director of Community Development, and the Finance Director be authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, any and all documents necessary for completion and implementation of the aforesaid Texas Preservation Trust Fund Grant and Lennox Foundation Grant, under the tenns and conditions and in the fonns approved by the City Attorney, and to proceed with the use of said funds upon receipt thereof for the purposes stated herein and in accordance with the grant conditions. Section 9. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.tPASSED AND APPROVED this 13th day of March, 2006.
