A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING TERMINATION OF THE CITY'S CURRENT LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF THE RED RIVER VALLEY, INC. FOR THE BALL PARK FACILITIES KNOWN AS REECE FIELD; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore on the 9th day of July, 2001 in Resolution 2001-087 approve a Lease Agreement with the Boys & Girls Club of the Red River Valley, Inc. for the ball park facilities known as Reece Field; and, WHEREAS, the term of said Lease will expire August 1, 2006; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has been made aware that the Boys & Girls Club of the Red River Valley, Inc. is no longer desirous of leasing the ball park and has no need for the facilities known as Reece Field; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to utilize City property in a manner to best serve its citizens and it is deemed to be appropriate to terminate this lease in order to release the property for other use; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the Lease Agreement with the Boys & Girls Club of the Red River Valley, Inc. for the ball park facilities known as Reece Field be, and it is hereby terminated. Section 3. That this resolution will be effective from and after its date of passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 27th day of March, 2006.
