<br />DRAFT <br /> <br />F:ATTORNEY\RESWROKICURREN1IFair Housing Proc Res 2006 <br />April 4, 2006 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING A PROCLAMATION DECLARING THE <br />MONTH OF APRIL AS FAIR HOUSING MONTH; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of Paris is supportive of Title VIII ofthe Civil <br />Rights Act of 1968, as amended, which prohibits discrimination in housing; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris has executed a Proclamation in the form <br />shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto, proclaiming the month of April as "Fair Housing Month" in <br />the city of Paris; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the City of Paris that the City Council <br />of the City of Paris show support of the Fair Housing law by approving said proclamation; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Proclamation proclaiming April as "Fair Housing Month" in the City of <br />Paris in the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto, be, and the same is hereby, approved. <br /> <br />Section 3.
