<br />of Highways and Public Transportation had contacted the city to inform them of a <br />change of speed limit on Lamar Ave from Loop 286 to the city limits east. The <br />speed limit change would drop from the current 50 MPH to 45 MPH. The <br />commission was advised that TxDOT had completed a traffic study and that the <br />lowering was needed. An ordinance will be presented to the city council for <br />review and passage. <br /> <br />The commission was also briefed on the procedures used to ask for traffic control <br />devices on state maintained highways and roadways that are inside the city <br />limits. <br /> <br />The commission was also briefed on the traffic study request for the intersection <br />of Loop 286 and Still house road. <br /> <br />Commissioner Seidle was briefed on his last request for study of some parking <br />problems in the downtown area around Bonham Street and SW 3 S1. AC <br />Hundley reported that we already had ordinances in place and that enforcement <br />took care of the problems he presented. <br /> <br />Item #4 was then called by Chairman Ellis for any future agenda items. Mr. <br />Seidle asked that we check the 600 - 800 block of East Price traffic congestion <br />due to parking and speed problems. Mr. Mizell asked that we investigate the <br />possibility of a traffic signal at the intersection of FM 137 and Loop 286 that <br />would flash yellow except during shift change hours at the Kimberly Clark Plant.. <br /> <br />Chairman Ellis then asked for a motion to end the meeting which was brought <br />forth by Mr. Kimbrough, seconded, and passed unanimously by members of the <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Bob Hundley <br />Assistant Chief of Police <br />
