<br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS <br />CITY HALL - COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN <br />PARIS. TEXAS <br />MONDAY. MAY 22.2006 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br /> <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 4:00 P.M. <br /> <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Paul Denney <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Pike Burkhart <br />Alternate: Brian Wear <br /> <br />The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rogers, Secretary <br />Jerry Raper <br />Alternate: Becki Norment <br /> <br />B. Also present were Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer; and <br />Bethany Golden, Main Street Coordinator. <br /> <br />2. Electing a Vice-Chairman. Sue Lancaster nominated Paul Denney to serve as <br />Vice-Chairman, seconded by Claudia Hunt. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />3. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (Apri/12, 2006; Apri/17, 2006; <br />April 24, 2006; May 1, 2006) Motion to approve the minutes as presented was <br />made by Paul Denney, seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />4. Public hearing on the application for a demolition permit by Doug Hines for <br />the structure located at 111 E. Washington Street. The public hearing was <br />declared open. Mr. Hines spoke in favor, stating that the house has termites <br />and he is interested in cleaning up the neighborhood. Brad Hutchison, who <br />owns property across the street, spoke in support of the demolition project <br />stating that the property does not have any historic value. There was no <br />opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br /> <br />5.
