<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-124
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 16th day of
<br />August, 1997, in Resolution No. 98-121, authorize the execution of the Compromise Settlement
<br />& Release of All Claims, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, in Cause No. 64933,
<br />styled The City of Reno, Texas vs. The City of Paris, Texas; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that such execution be ratified and that the
<br />Agreement Apportioning Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Overlap, dated October 8, 1984, be
<br />amended; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of the Amendments to the Agreement Apportioning Extraterritorial
<br />Jurisdiction Overlap, dated October 8, 1984, Between the City of Paris and the City of Reno,
<br />attached hereto as Exhibit B, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor Pro Tern, Jerry
<br />L. Thomas, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
<br />execution on August 16, 1998, by the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, of the Compromise Settlement
<br />& Release of All Claims, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is
<br />hereby, ratified; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the form of the Amendments to the Agreement
<br />Apportioning Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Overlap, dated October 8, 1984, Between the City of
<br />Paris and the City of Reno, attached hereto as Exhibit B, be, and the same is hereby, approved;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor Pro Tern, Jerry L. Thomas, be, and he
<br />is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of the Paris, the Amendments
<br />to the Agreement Apportioning Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Overlap, dated October 8, 1984,
<br />Between the City of Paris and the City of Reno, under the terms and conditions and in the form
<br />shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
