<br /> <br />OBJECTIVE: <br />- To provide an attractive entry way into Paris. <br />--To make a positive first impression on those considering Paris <br />for ...new industry, conventions, tourism, work in the medical <br />community, or a place to raise a family. <br />--To make a profound statement of city and state pride to travelers <br />passing through Paris as they leave the state of Texas. <br />--To set the pace for beautification efforts on hwy 24 S. that would <br />span from Loop 286 through S. Church and on to the square. <br /> <br />LOCATION: <br />--The parcel of property located on HWY 24 S. adjacent to the <br />Evergreen Cemetery and EM. HWY 1497 (the old Dallas Highway.) <br /> <br />COMPOSITION: <br />--The 75'1. x 12'h. structure will consist of: <br />-steel and masonry body <br />-Drivit or plaster exterior <br />-anodized metal lettering and logos <br />-concrete caps and globes <br /> <br />LANDSCAPING: <br />- Adaptive, low-maintenance landscaping will complement the <br />structure. Design approval by TX DOT. Suggested varieties include <br />pine trees, crape myrtles, and regional, seasonal wildflowers. <br /> <br />FUNDING: <br />-Total project costs not to exceed $50,000 consisting of: <br />-$10,000 from private sources through LCCOC <br />-$10,000 from the City of Paris <br />-remainder from TX DOT <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: <br />-Maintenance Agreement between City of Paris and TX DOT for <br />establishing and preserving landscaping <br />-Electrical services for basic lighting design <br />
