RESOLUTION NO. 98-099 WHEREAS, the phone system currently used by the City of Paris is in disrepair, and the parts therefor have become obsolete because of the age of the system; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the City of Paris and its citizens that the phone system described on Exhibit A, attached hereto, be purchased from Ikon Capital; and, WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that said purchase be made from current funds; and, WHEREAS, Ikon Capital has complied with all bid requirements through the State Purchasing and General Services Commission; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of September, 1992, in Resolution No. 92-076, elect to participate in the Commission's purchasing program; and, WHEREAS, Section 271.083(b) of the Local Government Code states that a "local government that purchases an item under a state contract satisfies any state law requiring the local government to seek competitive bids for the purchase of the item"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the City of Paris purchase the phone system described on Exhibit A, attached hereto, from Ikon Capital for the amount of $31,887.00 under the State Purchasing and General Services Commission's purchasing program; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said purchase be made from current funds.
