LEVEL OF COMMITMENT OF THE APPLICANT (20 Points) <br /> <br />In the space below, provide information related to the applicant's level of commitment to <br />preferred solid waste management practices, based on specific questions outlined in the <br />scoring criteria. Please attach any additional pages if needed. In addition, please attach <br />anyformal resolutions in support of the proposed project <br /> <br />The total cost of the paving pad is $44,723.23 of which $20,098.03 is in the form of <br />in-kind services. Our in-kind services represent forty-four point nine percent (44.9) <br />of the total cost of the project. This does not include the compost turner, tractor, or <br />the manpower to run the equipment. <br /> <br />We started the chipping program in 1991 and began the composting of wood chips <br />the same year. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Paris supports this grant application and this project, <br />and we are attaching a formal resolution passed on July 13,1998. <br /> <br />We have previously demonstrated a commitment to solid waste practices by <br />beginning this program in 1991, and saving the citizens of Paris over $1,000,000.00 <br />by composting wood chips rather than putting them in the landfill. Also, we have <br />adopted the "Don't Bag It" Program as well as recycling household appliances and <br />tires through our bulk pick-up program. <br /> <br />8 <br />
