RESOLUTION NO. 98-090 WHEREAS, the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 26th day of August, 1991, receive a Special Warranty Deed from Roy L. Smith for his interest in and to Lot 12, City Block 297, being number 2310 19th Street N.W.; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is in receipt of a request from Olma Smith Leinart, the other heir to said property, to convey to her the City of Paris's interest in and to the same in order to keep the property in her family; and, WHEREAS, Ms. Leinart did heretofore, on the 7th day of July, 1998, sign a Contract of Sale and Purchase whereby she agrees to pay to all taxing entities the full amount of all taxes that would have been payable on the property for the years 1991 through 1997 and to pay all of the 1998 taxes when due; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City of Paris convey its interest in and to said property to Ms. Leinart in order that the same can be placed back on the tax rolls; and, WHEREAS, the form of the Quitclaim Deed, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the conveyance by the City of Paris of its interest in and to Lot 12, City Block 297, to 01ma Smith Leinart, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the form of the Quitclaim Deed, attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Quitclaim Deed, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of July, 1998.
