RESOLUTION NO. 98-089 WHEREAS, the Rural Economic and Community Development Agency provides funding for Rural Utilities Services Grants/Loans; and, WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Paris desires to develop a viable urban community, including decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low/moderate income; and, WHEREAS, certain conditions exist which represent a threat to public health and safety; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing a grant pre- application under the 1988 Rural Utilities Services Loan/Grant Program, in the amount of $4,069,750.00, to carry out the wastewater collection system improvements necessary to provide adequate wastewater collection for current and future use by the citizens of the City of Paris as depicted on Exhibit A, attached hereto; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL 0.' THE CITY OF' PARIS: 1. That a pre-application be made to the Rural Economic and Community Development Agency for a Rural Utilities Services Grant, in the amount of $4,069,750.00, to carry out the wastewater collection system improvements necessary to provide adequate wastewater collection for current and future use by the City of Paris as depicted on Exhibit A, attached hereto. 2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby appointed as the Authorized Official of said project and is authorized and directed to act in all matters in connection with this application and the City's part in the Rural Utilities Service Program.
