<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-083
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of
<br />November, 1997, in Resolution No. 97-134, authorize an application to be made to the Office of
<br />the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for the Texas Narcotics Control Program (TNCP) grant;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, has issued its Grant
<br />Award entitled "Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program" Grant, No. DB-96-N04-
<br />11995, for the period beginning June 1, 1998, and ending May 31, 1999, in the total amount of
<br />$387,339.00, requiring a matching contribution of $129,115.00 in the form of cash; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of
<br />said award, which occurred on May 29, 1998; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant A ward and continue to suppress drug activity in and around the City
<br />of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
<br />Texas Narcotics Control Program Grant entitled "Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension
<br />Program" Grant, No. DB-96-N04-11995, for the period beginning June 1, 1998, and ending May
<br />31, 1999, in the total amount of $387,339.00, requiring a matching contribution of $129,115.00
<br />in the form of cash, be, and the same is hereby, accepted; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager, Michael E. Malone, be, and he
<br />is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Grantee
<br />Acceptance Notice, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached
<br />hereto.
