. ~ , I MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION JUNE 5, 2006 The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, June 5, 2006, 5:30, City of Paris, City Hall, Council Chambers, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas with the fOllowing members present: 1. Reeves Hayter 6. Richard Hunt 2. Bobby L. Myers 7. Brad Archer 3. Marshall Kent 8. Benny Plata 4. Barbara Forrest 9. John Mark Spencer 5. Russell McCain Lisa Wright, Director of Community Development, was also present. 1. The meeting was called to order by Reeves Hayter. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (May 1, 2006 regular meeting). Motion was made to approve the minutes by Brad Archer, seconded by Bobby Myers. Motion carried by a vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. 3. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Ross Moore for a change in zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Commercial District (C) on 1.796 Acres, being number 3755 FM 195. The public hearing was declared open. Ross Moore, Rt. 2, Box 71-A, Sumner, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition, stating that he wants to put in a retail nursery and garden center. The location is just before the water towers, right past The Hills subdivision on the left. Steve Bicker, 4445 Wood Creek, Reno, advised that this property is next to the Faught VFD and has high line going through it. This is about the only thing you can put on the property. Most things around it are Commercial. There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. 4. Consideration of and action on the petition of Ross Moore for a change in zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Commercial District (C) on 1.796 Acres, being number 3755 FM 195. Reeves Hayter stated for the record that the Comprehensive Plan recommends that this area be zoned residential; however, because of the high line going through the property, he did not believe it would ever be suitable
