<br />Reno Animal Control <br /> <br />Ordinance No. PD-08 <br /> <br />(1/2) acre), one (1) additional head of livestock may be kept or harbored in such <br />enclosure. <br /> <br />(b) Every head of livestock shall be kept within a suitable pen or enclosure. No part <br />of the enclosure shall be situated less than fifty (50) feet from any inhabited <br />dwelling; provided, that this distance requirement shall not apply to the dwelling <br />of the owner of such livestock. <br /> <br />(c) "One (1) enclosure", as that term is used in this Section, shall be held to mean <br />any anc1/or all connected buildings, whether under one (1) roof or otherwise, and <br />buildings and sheds which may have entrances to the same or adjoining lot or <br />lots, or lots ,vith a gateway or other opening between them. <br /> <br />(d) The provisions of this Section shall not be construed to prohibit any person <br />engaged in operating any packinghouse, auction or commission sale barn or other <br />similar institution, located within a properly zoned area as designated and defined <br />by the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and zoning map of the city from <br />keeping, on the premises of such place of business or other institution, any <br />number of livestock for temporary periods of time, not to exceed seven (7) days, <br />awaiting their use in connection with the operation and maintenance of such <br />packinghouse or similar institution or their sale at such auction or commission <br />sale barn; nor shall such provisions be construed to prohibit any person from <br />keeping more than two (2) head of livestock at such place of business or <br />institution, for a temporary period of time, not to exceed a maximum of thirty (30) <br />days, for experimental, demonstration or exhibition harboring such livestock for <br />such temporary periods of time for the purposes mentioned in this subsection shall <br />and must strictly comply with the provisions of paragraph (b) of this Section. <br /> <br />Section. 10 Animal waste / foul or offensive odors where animals are kept. <br /> <br />(a) It shall be unlav,.ful and considered a public nuisance for any person to allow any <br />pen, enclosure, yard or similar place used for keeping of animals to <br />become unsanitary, offensive by reason or odor, or disagreeable to persons of <br />ordinary sensibilities residing in the vicinity thereof because of flies or other <br />insects. Any condition injurious to public heath caused by improper waste <br />disposal will be considered a violation oftrus Section. <br /> <br />(b) The owner of every animal shall be responsible for the removal of any excreta <br />deposited by hislher animal on public walks, recreation areas, or private property. <br /> <br />(c) It shall be the duty of every person raising, owning or keeping any animal to keep <br />such animal and its abode in a sanitary condition so that such animal, or the place <br />where such animal is kept, shall not emit foul and offensive odors of sufficient <br />strength to be detected on any adjoining property. <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />r'..' <br />
