<br />IITML <br /> <br />'-1 Intergovernmental <br />Employee Benefits <br />Pool <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />TML Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool Members of Region 15 <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />August 16, 2006 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />2006 Board of Trustee Election <br /> <br />Enclosed is your ballot for the Board of Trustee election. All qualified nominees appear on the <br />ballot. Please see that this ballot is placed on the agenda for the next meeting of your governing <br />body. To be counted, ballots must certify that the vote was taken at an official meeting of <br />the governing body. Facsimile ballots will not be accepted. Enclosed is a pre-addressed <br />envelope to return your ballot. The Board Secretary must receive ballots by 5:00 p.m. (CST) on <br />September 26,2006 at Bickerstaff, Heath, Pollan & Caroom, L.L.P., 816 Congress Ave., Suite <br />1700, Austin, Texas 78701-2443. <br /> <br />The term of office will be from October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2009 for the individual <br />elected. The Tmst Agreement provides that "if more than two (2) candidates are running, the <br />person receiving the largest number of votes shall be elected." <br /> <br />Further, the Tmst Agreement provides "write-in candidates otherwise duly qualified shall be <br />eligible for election." To be duly qualified the individual must be either an employee or elected <br />official of an incorporated city within the state of Texas, which is a Member of the Pool at the <br />time of their election. A municipal "employee" is a person who holds a position of Department <br />Head or higher; works at least 20 hours per week for an incorporated city; is paid by the <br />incorporated city with incorporated city funds; and may be hired and fired only by another <br />incorporated city official or by the incorporated city's governing body.
