<br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR <br />MEETING OF THE <br />MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD <br /> <br />July 19, 2006 <br />Aikin Building <br />23 East Plaza <br />3:00 p.m. <br /> <br />A meeting of the members of the Paris Main Street Advisory Board was held Wed. July 19, 2006 at <br />3:10 p.m., at the Aikin Building. Jennifer Long, Vice-Chair, presided. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Jennifer Long <br />Pike Burkhart (Alt.) <br />Matt Coyle <br />Karol Lyn Moore <br />Walt Brown <br />Lisa House <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Zach Saffle <br />Drew Crawford (Alt.) <br />Cindy Allcorn <br />Linda Knox <br />Casey Rose <br /> <br />Other members present included Becky Semple, V&CC Director was also present. <br /> <br />June 21, 2006 minutes were reviewed by advisory board members and a motion was made by Lisa <br />House to approve the minutes as prepared. Pike Burkhart seconded and minutes were unanimously <br />approved. <br /> <br />Committee Reports <br />~ Organization Committee -No report given at this time. <br />y Promotions Committee - The promotions committee met last week to discuss the festival of <br />pumpkins and the Joe's fund raiser. A report was given on festival funds raised thus far. <br />Cindy Allcorn is heading up a group to sell chilli and pumpkin pie at the festival with funds <br />raised going to Main Street. She is responsible for gathering information, volunteers, <br />donations, etc. Wyatt Bowden is looking into a mechanical bull for the festival and having a <br />contest Friday night and regular rides for Saturday. A dance contest may be on tap depending <br />on volunteers and coordination. Two bands will be booked for the Joe's fund raiser and a live <br />auction is also on tap for the event. We need auction items and volunteers for the fund raiser. <br /> <br />~ Design Committee - No report given at this time. <br />~ Economic Restructuring Committee - No report given at this time. <br /> <br />Discussion of a Visitors Center Downtown <br />The group discussed the visitors' center at length. The group was divided on the need for an <br />additional center downtown. Some felt we really didn't need one at this time.
